Dentoclic Fibreglass Posts

Refills and set of fibreglass posts
Advantages

Reproduces the mechanical constraints of dentine
> The optimum fibre (80%)/matrix (20%) ratio provides resistance to compression and therefore to fractures*
> The high concentration of longitudinal glass fibres provides the post with flexural strength and elasticity

Low resistance to extraction no delamination
> Due to the longitudinal glass fibres

Natural aesthetic finish of the finished restoration
> Translucent or ivory posts

Convenient to use
> Colour coded according to diameter, drill/post colour correspondence

Indications

Prosthetic tooth reconstruction following root treatment.

Tips

Pour augmenter la liaison chimique à l’interface fibres de verre/adhésif, appliquer du silane sur la surface du tenon et le sécher soigneusement avant d’appliquer l’adhésif.

How to remove a fibreglass post?

> Remove the composite to individualise the post
> Make a starter hole in the fibreglass post to access it more easily
> Either use a sonic or ultrasonic waterless diamond insert, or a specific drill (Gates type) to delaminate this fibre to find the canal under the reconstruction

Technical data*

Favourable constraint/deformation ratio for the tooth thanks to uniform distribution of mechanical constraints “In fact, teeth restored with fibreglass posts show a very few failures, which can most often be repaired. On the other hand, teeth restored with metal-type posts most often show significant or even catastrophic breakage, leading to the loss of the tooth”. (Standlee, 1988; Freeman, 1998)
