The demand for whiter teeth has never been stronger: according to a recent Yougov survey, 79% of patients dream of whiter teeth (Yougov for Align Technology, March 2017). Providing these patients with a brighter smile is a good way to retain their patient: they will be better able to maintain their teeth if they have beautiful white teeth.

Beyond this sociographic aspect, teeth whitening is above all one of the least invasive dental treatments, thus fitting into the concept of therapeutic gradient of Gil Tirlet and Jean-Pierre Attal (2009):   before proposing crowns or veneers to his patient, it is desirable to subject him to teeth whitening as an alternative when possible, especially since the laying of a crown, for example, will prevent any subsequent whitening of the teeth since the prosthesis will be manufactured according to the current color of the teeth.
